Slađana Novota has more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector, specializing in building the capacity of civil society organizations. In January 2025, she joined the SOLIDARNA Foundation as the Civil society program manager.
From 1999, when she co-founded SMART with her colleagues, until 2024, she served as the Executive Director and Trainer/Consultant of the Association for the Development of Civil Society SMART. During this time, she organized, prepared, and conducted hundreds of training sessions, consultations, and facilitation workshops, covering almost every aspect of non-profit organization management, including strategic and operational planning, monitoring and evaluation, project management, and volunteer management.
In addition to her work in education, Slađana has extensive experience in advocacy for improving the institutional framework for civil society development. She was a member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society from 2010 to 2012 and has participated as an evaluator in various tender schemes for public and private sector funding. She is also one of the authors of several manuals on non-profit organization management and a licensed mentor for the Quality Management System for Civil Society Organizations OK 2015.
