The second “Regional Fair of the Culture of Development Cooperation” will be held on Sunday, October 22, in a large tent at Trg hrvatski branitelja in Petrinja, starting at 10 a.m.
The purpose of the Fair is to promote good local products, services and development practices in a wide range of activities (from agriculture, and hospitality, to tourism, education, and culture), but also new models of community support and cooperation in local development. Visitors will be able to explore the diverse offer of more than 40 stands with products from local OPGs and handicrafts from the area of Sisak-Moslavina County and enjoy a rich cultural and entertainment program.
“We are proud of all OPGs of the Sisak Moslavina County that, despite all the adversities, do not give up, and show that a different, common, and more sustainable tomorrow is possible. Through the first days on the ground after the earthquake and crisis aid, we managed to organize this year with our partners the 2nd Regional Development Cooperation Culture Fair, which on October 22 will be a place for socializing, networking, information, education and promotion of local producers and communities for sustainable development”, said in front of the SOLIDARNA Foundation.
The daily program of the Fair begins at 10:00 a.m. with a ceremonial opening and a welcome speech by the organizer.
“The Tourist Board of the City of Petrinja will be at the Fair again this year and present the “Small City with a Big Heart”, connect with the participants, exchange experiences, examples of good practice and good energy with other exhibitors and participants of the Fair. Therefore, we invite you to join us and be a part of this beautiful story”, said Kristina Suppe, Director of the Tourist Board of the City of Petrinja on the eve of the 2nd Regional Fair.
After that, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., there will be a public discussion on Resilience and development of the local community with prominent representatives of cooperatives, decision-makers, and producers, during which exhibitors and visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions, express their opinions and views, and make suggestions for improving the conditions for quality life and development of Petrinja and the entire region.
From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., civic hour the Urban Regeneration of Petrinja after the earthquake will be held, during which will be presented the results of the project of the City of Petrinja and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Through the project, scenarios for the development of the city of Petrinja were developed based on the expertise of urban planning companies Urbanex and the company KCAP, and with the participation of citizens of Petrinja from all sectors who contributed their knowledge about the needs of the population of Petrinja and its surroundings.
From 12:30 to 12:45 the ACT group will announce and present a series of educational workshops for OPG employees and small entrepreneurs on the following topics: market readiness and market entry, starting processing and expanding the production line, entering the store.
After the educational corner, from 12:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors, in addition to touring the stands, will be able to enjoy the performances of local and visiting KUDs, the performance of the choir ZborXor, while the end of the 2nd Regional Fair will be marked by the performance of the local band Ruswaj.
The fair is held under the auspices of the City of Petrinja and the Tourist Board of the City of Petrinja, organized by the SOLIDARNA Foundation and the Serbian National Council, and in cooperation with the Zamah Foundation and ACT Group.
